Brood Manley

A Manley brood box lets you build an Apimaye 10-frame hive in which every box takes one frame size. The Apimaye Manley brood, an Apimondia gold medal winner, is made from the insulated polypropylene used across the 10F range but stands lower, so it is lighter to handle than a full-depth brood. It arrives as a complete base with a vented bottom board, frame spacers, entrance closures, a pollen trap, top feeding and stainless INOX latches, plus a removable base tray that, with a film of canola oil, catches falling mites, beetles and wax moth.

Its ten Manley frames are extra. Take the bare Manley brood box if you already run Manley gear, or pick the listing that adds frames in the same order: assembled timber frames, waxed and wired in 304 stainless, one-piece Beemax plastic frames that include foundation, or the Apimaye Handy Frame, whose two halves part to hold a wax sheet.

The trade-off is brood room. A Manley box is shallower than a full-depth one, so a strong colony may need a second Manley brood box before honey supers go on. In return, any comb can go into any box during splits or rotation.
