A wax press earns its place the day after extraction, when the uncapping tub is heaped with honey-soaked cappings. Our stainless steel cappings presses, in 10L and 30L sizes, squeeze honey from cappings and comb and leave compressed wax ready to remelt and purify.
Choose by the job. A beeswax press recovers honey and compacts the wax, but it doesn't clean it; melting does. The solar wax melter, sometimes searched for as a wax extractor, needs no power: under its 5mm plate glass top it takes 10 full-depth frames at a time, a practical way to clear old comb through a sunny Australian summer. For controlled work, the 15L and 25L electric melters are digitally controlled double boilers that run from a domestic 10 amp power point. Fill the jacket with distilled water and keep the wax at 85°C or below. They also handle honey recovery and candle making.
Finish with a mould to suit the wax: polypropylene 5kg blocks (lid sold separately) for bulk storage, 500g bars in plastic or stainless steel, or 30g bars six at a time. A little liquid soap helps set bars release. Feed the wax press from our uncapping tools and machines and strain the melt using our honey filters and strainers.
