Jerricans

A jerrican is the tidy way to hold honey in bulk once it has been extracted and strained: rigid, easy to carry and sealed against moisture, ants and dust until it is time to bottle or sell. Our food grade jerricans come in two sizes, a 5L container and a heavy duty 15L PE cube, and each closes with a tamper evident cap, so a buyer can see the honey has not been opened since you filled it.

Choose by weight, not litres. Honey is roughly 1.4 times heavier than water, so the 5L jerrican carries about 7kg and suits small batches, gifts to family or a regular order for a local customer. The 15L cube holds around 20kg, a practical size for bulk sales or for keeping a season's surplus in the shed. For pouring, a 20mm tap and bung is sold separately for the 15L HDPE ProSweet jerry can, letting you run honey straight into jars without lifting the full container.

Pass the honey through a honey strainer or filter bag before it goes into any jerrican. If you would rather work with open-top containers, compare our honey buckets and pails, and when the bulk honey is ready to sell by the jar, choose from our retail honey jars.
