Colonies need a hand whenever nectar runs short, whether it's a fresh split in spring, a late-summer dearth or a hive light on stores heading into winter. Choosing between bee feeders mostly comes down to where the syrup sits: inside the box, on top of it or at the entrance. We carry all three styles for 8-frame and 10-frame Langstroth hives, plus a 4L under-cover feeder for Apimaye insulated hives.
A bee frame feeder hangs in place of one or two full-depth frames, keeping syrup inside the hive and away from ants and robber bees. Singles hold 3L and doubles 6L, and ladder models give bees a foothold so fewer drown. A beehive top feeder holds more and refills without lifting frames: our blue food-grade polypropylene feeders take 6.5L (8F) or 8.5L (10F), with protected corners so bees reach the last of the syrup even on a slight slope. The 2L round feeder sits on a feeder mat or one of our crown boards and mats. With the 460mL Boardman entrance feeder, feed every hive in the yard late in the day to discourage robbing.
For small colonies, the 1.2L box feeder suits 5-frame nucs. Fill any of these bee feeders with sugar syrup or Pro-Sweet from our bee nutrition range, and check your box width, 8F or 10F, before ordering.
