A honey tank is where extracted honey rests between the extractor and the jar. Left to stand, air bubbles and fine specks of wax rise to the top, so the honey drawn from the gate at the bottom runs clear and ready to pack. Our Königin tanks are made from food-grade, acid-resistant stainless steel and run from a 25L tank with carry handles, holding about 35kg, through 100L and 200L sizes up to 500L for a commercial extraction shed.
Which honey tank to buy depends on what you want to happen while the honey sits. A plain stainless steel honey tank is a gravity settler, and the 200L version has an integrated stand that lifts the gate to filling height. A heated honey tank adds a double jacket so you can warm candied honey back to liquid before bottling. Stirred models turn a low-speed gearbox on a single-phase 230V motor to blend a batch evenly, and the heated and stirred tanks in 100L, 200L and 500L do both jobs. Heated and stirred models alike offer a choice of honey gate for filling jars by hand or a threaded outlet for plumbing into a line with our Königin honey pumps.
