A brood box is the bottom box of the hive, where the queen lays and the colony raises its young, so it needs to be solid and weatherproof from the first day. Every brood box here arrives assembled, painted and Ready-To-Go as a complete unit: a knot-free seasoned pine box, glued with high-temp polyurethane and screwed with galvanised steel screws, with four hand grips, a Weathertex base with cleats and a Galvabond metal cover with four vents. All full-depth boxes are also hot wax dipped.
Choosing comes down to three things. Match the width, 8-frame or 10-frame, to the beehive boxes and supers you already run. Full depth gives the queen the most comb per box, while WSP is lighter to lift and takes the same frames as WSP honey supers. Then decide whether you need frames: buy the box on its own, or pick a version supplied with assembled, waxed timber frames sized to fit. One 10F full-depth option swaps the standard floor for an Apimaye Type-G base with a varroa/SHB tray, pollen trap and entrance closure.
