Hiveware is the timber side of the Beewise catalogue: the bee boxes, frames, foundation, bases, lids and fittings that make up a Langstroth hive. Most of our boxes are New Zealand pine, built as 8F or 10F and in four depths (full depth, WSP, Manley, Ideal), so you can put together a complete wooden bee hive or replace a single worn part. Some excluders, covers and entrance closures here also suit Apimaye polypropylene hives.
Settle two measurements up front, since every other part follows them. Width comes first: 8F gear weighs less once it's heavy with honey, 10F gives the brood nest extra frames per level, and the two can't share a stack. Then depth: full depth is the usual brood chamber, while WSP and Manley bee boxes are easier on your back as honey supers. Frames and foundation must match the depth of the box they hang in.
Setting up your first hive? Our beehive kits come as flat-pack sets with a base and cover, or as painted, wax-dipped Ready-To-Go boxes with your choice of frames. Adding bee boxes to hives you already keep? Head to beehive boxes and supers, sold as kits, assembled, painted or hot-wax dipped, then fill them with wooden and plastic hive frames sized to suit. The 10-Frame Apimaye Propolis Trap is an excellent way to harvest clean propolis from your Apimaye hive and add extra income. Replace your inner cover with our plastic propolis trap. The bees will fill the grooves of the trap with propolis.
To remove simply put the trap inside a plastic bag and freeze overnight. Being made of silicone they an be rolled up to fit into your freezer. Once frozen, twist or bang the trap inside the bag against a flat surface to release the propolis.
The Apimaye Propolis Trap is made from quality food-grade silicone (just like kitchen cup cake molds), which make them superior to mats made of poylethylene (PE) or polypropylene PP), so they will not become brittle with age and easily hold their shape for many years.

- It is used before extracting honey; place the bee escape board (or clearer board) below your box of honeycomb 24 - 48 hours before you plan to harvest honey, and you’ll come back to an almost bee-free honey super!

The Best Bottom Board for your 10-Frame Wood Hive, the Apimaye Type-G bottom boards are designed specifically for the Australian market to be compatible with 10-Frame wooden hives be they Full Depth, WSP, Manley or Ideal.
Just like bottom boards for the famous Apimaye Hive, these Type-G bottom boards are multifunction being equipped with a Pest Drawer so Varroa, SHB and Wax Moth/Grubs that fall through the base on to the Pest Drawer are stuck in the drawer and cannot return to the hive when the Pest Tray is used with a sticky mat or is coated with a light film of canola oil or vaseline (petroleum jelly).
All our bottom boards can be used safely in all climate conditions. The unique grill design enables ventilation in extremely hot weather, while helping remove moisture from the bee hive at the very cold temperatures. Balancing the moisture inside the hive results in maturing the honey sooner, thus increasing the hive productivity.
As the bottom boards are equipped with a bottom a drawer, you can have a better understanding of your hive through checking the drawer.
The pollen traps on the bottom boards are specially designed to prevent bee injuries while collecting the pollen. A built in pollen tray enables collecting the pollen hygienically.
