Our painted bee boxes arrive assembled and finished, so a new super can go onto the hive the day it's unpacked rather than after a weekend of gluing, screwing and waiting for paint to dry. Each is a premium rebate box in 22mm knot-free seasoned New Zealand pine, bonded with high-temp polyurethane glue, fixed with 45mm galvanised steel screws and given two coats of acrylic. Four deep hand grips make a loaded box easier to lift off the stack.
The range covers full depth, WSP and Manley, each made in 8F and 10F widths. Sort out width first: an 8F box won't line up with a 10F floor or lid, so stay with whatever your hives already use. Then choose depth by the job. Full depth gives the queen plenty of comb for brood, while WSP and the slightly shallower Manley weigh less when full of honey, which your back will notice at harvest. Frames have to match the depth of the beehive box they go into.
Fill your painted bee boxes with timber or plastic hive frames of the right size, then cap the hive with a matching lid from our beehive covers range. For sites with damp winters, compare our hot wax dipped hive boxes. Not sure which depth you already run? Ask our staff in Perth or Sydney.
