Building a hive yourself is part of the fun for many new beekeepers, and our unassembled bee hive kits arrive flat-packed for you to put together. Each Langstroth kit pairs a full-depth brood box with a super, both New Zealand pine, finger-jointed for strength, plus a cover that comes already assembled and vented. The 10-frame boxes are also pre-drilled.
Choosing between our unassembled bee hive kits comes down to frames. The two complete 8F kits add 16 unassembled bee frames, a queen excluder, nails and DIY instructions, with either plastic foundation ready for a coat of beeswax or pure WA beeswax foundation with stainless steel frame wire. The box-and-base kits, available as 8F or 10F, include a base and cover only, so you fit 16 or 20 full depth bee frames of your own. Match the width to any gear you already run.
