A half bee suit sits between a jacket and a full suit: a pullover top in 100% pre-shrunk cotton at 315gsm, cut to cover past the waist so your lower back stays protected as you bend over a brood box. It goes on over your head in a couple of seconds and comes off just as quickly for a pit-stop, which makes a half suit handy for routine inspections when climbing into overalls feels like overkill.
When you order a half bee suit, pick your size from S to 5XL, then your veil. The Euro style lets you unzip the face mesh and lower it without taking the hood off; the round hat style lets air in all the way around. Either veil can be removed, and spare hoods are listed with our replacement bee veils and hats. A YKK neck zip, a hive tool pouch, generous pockets and an elastic waist band round out the design.
Cotton or mesh? If summer inspections leave you soaked, this page also carries our vented triple layer bee jacket, sized from kids 2XS up, plus matching cotton trousers (their 300mm ankle zips make dressing easy) to cover your legs.
