Uncapping leaves a tub of wet cappings still holding honey, and a honey and wax separator is how extraction sheds recover it rather than leaving it to drip. Our Königin screw presses do the job mechanically: a rotating module presses the cappings inside a perforated stainless cylinder, honey passes through onto a sieve underneath, and a screw pushes the drier wax out the end, ready for melting.
Choosing a press comes down to throughput. The 50kg/hour honey wax separator suits a sideliner running a single extractor; it weighs 55kg, is 85cm long and uses a 0.55kW motor. The 200kg/hour model is built for a high-volume shed, at 1.25m long, 120kg and 0.75kW. Both have extruders of acid-resistant 304 stainless steel, run on 230V power, and include a speed controller and emergency stop. Whichever you choose, run the honey wax screw press slowly: the slower it turns, the more precisely it separates.
