Glass honey jars give a harvest the kind of presentation that sells at a market table or farm-gate stand, with the colour of the honey on show and a gold lid on top. Our hexagonal honey jars hold 250g, 500g or 1kg and are sold by the jar, so you can buy a handful for a first harvest or enough to see a sideline business through the season.
Each jar is named for the honey it holds, not its volume, because honey is much denser than water: the 180mL jar takes 250g, the 370mL jar 500g and the 730mL jar 1kg. Pick glass honey jars to match the net weight printed on your honey jar labels, and fill by weight rather than by eye. The 500g hex jar also fits our 8F and 10F honeycomb jar templates, where the bees build comb inside 15 jars on the hive before you top them up with your own honey.
Glass is heavier than PET and can break in transit, and we are unable to cover courier breakages, so if postage matters, compare our plastic honey containers. Honey drizzlers in natural wood or stainless steel, 10cm to 18cm long, sit alongside the glass jars, and until bottling day, extracted honey can wait in food-grade honey buckets.
